The award-winning set design helps transport people back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Once the curtains open, everyone is blasted with an air of familiarity that you just can't find in any of the other plays on tour or on Broadway. There's kind of an adjustment period to get used to watching other actors giving life to some of these legendary roles. J.K. Rowling herself admitted when she first saw Harry Potter and The Cursed Child LIVE it was emotional for her to see Professor Snape, the character, with his back to the crowd and feeling like she would see the late Alan Rickman's face when he turned around. There might be those heavily emotional moments for you as well on this Thursday night if you're a huge fan of the movies.
Thanks to, the story being told on stage and the way that it's set up allows people to adapt their eyes a bit. That way, when you get to the climax of the story, you're looking at "Harry Potter" as the character without hoping to see Daniel Radcliffe. Come at your own risk knowing, that you'll experience a roller coaster of emotions with Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. This ride is much more exciting than anything that you can get on at Universal Studios. Perhaps what makes this play so impactful is that it remains faithful to the tone of the books. It would've been a massive mistake to try and turn this into a corny musical to go up against something like The Lion King. Most people would've hated the idea. Harry Potter isn't a musically led movie, and therefore, a story within this world in a theater shouldn't be either.
It's essential to pick the right seat for this show at Hollywood Pantages Theatre. They put a lot of work into that set design to make crowds believe that they are truly boarding a train at Platform 9 at Kings' Cross for you to be blind to those details! Finding a seat toward the middle of the theater in a row that's maybe a bit higher up could be where you want to be. People are dying to see Harry Potter and The Cursed Child live. Don't be one of those fans who missed out because they weren't able to hit the get tickets link fast enough. Do it now; worry about everything else later.
