Many long-time fans of Neil Diamond still remember when his 1976 album, A Beautiful Noise, first was released. Hit Broadway musical celebrating Neil Diamond, now makes its way to Los Angeles for several shows at the legendary Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, California this summer.
The exciting performance fascinated audiences from the very beginning with a engaging story and uplifting songs. The story follows the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, opening in the present day with Westenberg inside in a therapist’s office. As Diamond, he talks about how he can no longer sing like he used to while the doctor helps him cope with that realization throughout A Beautiful Noise. The play goes back to Diamond's childhood days, examining his introduction to music and all the good and bad times since then, including his journey to stardom and fight with depression. The Broadway musical, written by the critically acclaimed Anthony McCarten, was produced by Robert Gaudio and the award-winning Ken Davenport. With help from more than 60 years of Diamond’s music, the team created a “musical collage” with songs that take on "lives of their own”, as McCarten stated in an interview with The Boston Globe.

Those same fans will never forget seeing the musical of the same name it came to Los Angeles. The jukebox musical delighted audiences from the opening act with a full engaging story and catchy songs.
The musical soon ended up on NYC Broadway, which lastest from late 2022 into early 2024 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Famed actors like Will Swenson (playing Neil Diamond), Mark Jacoby (present-day Diamond), and Linda Powell (The Doctor) all delivered fantastic performances after the Boston production.
The show swiftly spread its reach. Now, new faces make up the traveling cast, including the American Idol winner, Nick Fradiani, (playing Neil Diamond).

While the Broadway show was nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical by the Drama League Awards and Outstanding New Broadway Musical, the actors took home the gold. Hoggett, Hurder, and LeProtto won Outstanding Ensemble in a Broadway Show for their dance routines. Other award nominations include the Drama Desk Award and Drama League Awards.
