Alexander Hamilton became famous for his role as the first Secretary of the Treasury in the USA and wrote the Federalist Papers. He unfortunately died from a gunshot wound he sustained in a duel he had with the U.S. Vice President, Aaron Burr.
The interesting and dramatic tale is what inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to create his musical masterpiece. From day one in 2015, Hamilton has been universally acclaimed.
Hamilton received a unheard amount of 16 Tony Awards nominations and won 11, including "Best Musical". This epic musical won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama.
